Pizza Claymation

When I was younger I used to make claymations. Most of the better ones were lost when YouTube deleted my neglected channel. But some of the older ones survived. The one I am most fond of is this pizza claymation, which I made when I was 11 years old.

I was sorta-kinda part of a small community of (mostly kids, I think) claymation creators on YouTube. I made it for a pizza themed claymation contest run by another junior claymation maker on YouTube, who’s channel was called “virtualwenrog”. I think most of the context of this contest was lost to time. I remembering thinking this submission made by “faceofdoomness” would win. I looked them up and apparently they now work in the animation industry (lol). But I ended up winning! I remember being ecstatic and reading the “congratz” comments from various other small-fry claymationers. The prize was a DVD with virtualwenrog’s claymations on them, plus a clay figure made by him (I still have these).

I also love how it reeks of classic youtube, from the music to the Windows Movie Maker title cards.
